Das Aussuchen des richtigen Domainnamens ist an sich schon eine nicht gerade leichte Aufgabe, doch dann kommt die Endung. Für welche soll man sich entscheiden. Doch ist die Frage wirklich so schwer? Mittlerweilen gibt es nämlich eine nicht mehr zu überblickende Anzahl an Domain Endung. Mit den verschiedensten Bedeutungen.
.by wird gerne für Bayern hergenommen, hat aber mit eben Bayern überhaupt nicht zu tun. Es handelt sich hierbei um Belarus, Weißrussland.
Oder .cc war eine Zeit lang auch ein gefragter Geheimtipp, doch auch hier sollte man sich wirklich überlegen ob man seinen Namen, Firma wirklich mit den Kokosinseln im Indischen Ozean in Verbindung bringen will. (Der Schuhladen aus der Südsee 😊)
Na wir wäre es dann mit .ir ? Hat aber nichts mit Irland zu tun, sondern dem Iran. Ja und unter .in finden sie keine Indianer sondern Indien. Oder für einen Dönerladen vielleicht .tk, doch hier verbirgt sich nicht die Türkei sondern Tokelau ein von Neuseeland abhängiges Gebiet im Südpazifik.
Und wenn sie jetzt mal ehrlich zu sich selber sind. Sie hören im Radio oder bei einer Unterhaltung unter Freunden einen Domainnamen. Stunden später sitzen sie vor dem Rechner und tippen Sie ihn ein! Welche Endung nehmen sie, wenn sie diese nicht mehr wissen?
